    • Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is has a recurring dream in which he travels to Mars to purchase a dream vacation from Rekall Inc. The company product is implanted memories, so one could buy "dream vacations", literally.     • Total Recall was originally distributed by TriStar in 1990. Bob and Harvey Weinstein planned on developing a sequel, through Dimension Films, a division of Miramax, and they reportedly acquired the rights for approximately $3.15 million. When the Weinstein's left Miramax to form their own company, Miramax retains the film rights to Total Recall.
