A Tostada is a popular Mexican food dish, found on most menus in Mexican restaurants. The tostada is very similar to a taco, only the tostada has a flat deep fried flour tortilla shell, where a taco has a U shape and usually made with a corn tortilla.
The Tostada is first layered with refried beans, (beans allow the ingredients to stick) then add your choice of meat, chicken, seafood, followed by, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and salsa. Garnish with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole.
