    Holt began his career playing college football with the NC State Wolfpack in the NCAA. He set school and Atlantic Coast Conference records with 88 receptions and 1,604 receiving years in a single season. He also led the team with 62 receptions and 1.099 yards, becoming the first player to top 1,000 yards in a single season.
