The Toronto International Film Festival (or TIFF) began in 1976, and has since become one of the premier festivals in the world.
This year there will be 330 films from around the world will be participating. it will last for 10 days, starting by September 10, 2009. The opening movie is Creation and the festival ends with "'The Young Victoria" This years celebrity list includes George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey,Penelope Cruz, Julianne Moore, and Michael Caine
.
The TIFF started with a small collection of independent films from all over the globe.
Today, though it primarily remains an indie film fest, the TIFF also marks the start of Hollywood's Oscar buzz, as more of its films now premiere there.Though some criticize Hollywood's growing presence at the TIFF, the festival's overall positive impact on the local economy and job circuit only ensure that it will continue to grow in forthcoming years.
