Pan Am Games 2015, which is the 17th Pan Am games, will be hosted in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Other cities competing for the hosting were Bogota of Colombia and Lima of Peru. History

Central American games started in 1926. During the 1932 Olympics, Latin American countries proposed for a regional sport event for the entire American continent. They chose Buenos Aires to host the first Pan Am games in 1942, but due to the Second World War it was postponed. The first Pan Am games was held in 1951. The games are governed by the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO). Like the Olympics, this game is also held once in every four years.
