Topology

- From the Greek: Topos meaning shape and Logos meaning study
- Used in almost all branches of mathematics in some way
- Subfields include: point-set topology, algebraic topology, geometric topology
- The Möbius strip and Klein bottle are objects demonstrating properties of topology

Topology is a branch of mathematics that builds off of geometry and explores the properties of shapes that are distorted by stretching, shrinking, twisting, etc.
