How to Plan a Bridal Shower

Throughout the party, have background music playing. The choice is basically up to you and your fellow party planners to decide what music to play. No matter what it is, try to select music that is not going to get in the way of conversation.

Do not overlook the fact that one of the party activities is the actual buffet, eating and chatting. Then, even though cake is classified as food, it can also be a bridal shower activity. All of the guests may be asked to lift their beverages and, if there are not too many people, offer individual toasts to the bride-to-be. If you can “plant a seed” ahead of time, the toasts might be brief and humorous anecdotes about the bride. Nothing embarrassing, just a short individual reminiscence from everyone can be a lot of fun. If you see one of the “toasts” going wrong, gently step in and make it stop, then on to the next guest. These are the bride’s closest friends. The “funny toast” activity usually goes very well.

It may be wise to have the bride open her gifts next. Many party planners suggest that a bridal shower should last about two hours.http://www.simplyweddingstuff.com/brshad.html#question10 If a guest needs to leave early, she may be disappointed if she is not able to see her gift being opened. The gift opening is an activity.

You do not necessarily need to factor in other games. However, once you have ...

How to Save Money on Wedding Flowers

Silk flowers can be a cheaper alternative to real flowers. High quality silk flowers can look very close to the real thing without the high cost, chance of affecting allergies, or the chance of wilting during your wedding and reception. Many people do not like the idea of fake flowers at a wedding but, if it is done right, silk flowers can be both beautiful and cost effective.http://www.save-on-crafts.com/newsilflowse.html

Beautiful wedding bouquets and arrangements can be made out of silk flowers for a fraction of the cost. If you don't want your bouquet to be made of silk flowers consider using silk for the centerpieces or as the decorations on the gift, cake, or DJ tables. Use silk flowers in the smaller areas where they will not be as noticeable. Silk flowers cost little compared to real flowers and they will last as long as you need them to. You can reuse them later for a different event or even sell them to someone else for their wedding, giving you back some of the money you spent. Do not rule out silk flowers without considering all of the options as they are a real money saver if used correctly.

How to Adapt Your Makeup for Your Wedding Day

If you're not comfortable with the idea of trying to adapt your makeup for your wedding day yourself, why not consult an expert? Some brides may wish to hire a professional makeup artist to help them create a perfect look on their big day. To find a pro, ask around. Check with former brides to get recommendations. If you have a wedding consultant, inquire about makeup services. Makeup artists may also work at makeup counters of local department stores. They may not be able to come to you on your wedding day, but you might be able to schedule an appointment at the store to have your makeup done on the day of your wedding.http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-beauty-tips/bridal-beauty-secrets/articles/find-your-wedding-day-beauty-look.aspx

How to Pick a Wedding Venue

Your next step should be to make an appointment to speak with the wedding or special events coordinator at each venue on your short list. Again, be sure to bring a pen and notepad with you to write down any notes or questions that arise. You may also want to compile a list of questions to ask him or her, such as:

  1. Will the wedding coordinator be working the day of your wedding? If not, be aware that therein lies the potentiality for difficulty or lack of communication between the employees that are working and what you had discussed with the coordinator.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKTsHBW1W8Q
  2. Is there a restaurant on site, or will you have to arrange for an outside caterer?
  3. Are there any limits on the type and amount of decorations you can set up?
  4. Will staff look after the clean-up, or will you have to do it yourself?
  5. Is the venue licensed, or will you have to arrange for a liquor license?http://weddings.about.com/cs/weddinglocations/a/venuequestions.htm

Also ensure that you discuss any and all costs with the wedding coordinator at each venue. For example, in addition to the rental fee, you may also be asked to pay for:

  1. Set-up and/or cleanup services
  2. Bartenders and wait staff
  3. Valet parking
  4. Food and drinks

After speaking with the special events coordinator at each of your potential venues, it is likely that you will have a few, or, if you're lucky ...

How to Plan Your Wedding at Joann Fabric

If you will have the wedding in a church, there are several decorative items that you can add from Joann Fabrics. The company offers both a 75' and 100' runner for the main church aisle. Also, columns and pews can be decorated with a mix of garlands and small lights. These items can be attached to the pews with clips sold by the store. For added decoration, large satin bows can be added to the clip as well.

Once you get to the reception area, you'll often need to spruce up the decor.

  • Cover small tables with satin table cloths. You can even find easy to sew patterns for them at Joann Fabrics and buy the material in bulk.
  • Create an elegant centerpiece from a floral candle ring and pillar candle in your wedding color. Alternatively, use floating candles in small vases with water.
  • Sprinkle silk petals across the table tops.
  • Fold out chairs can be hidden with satin covers.
  • Place silver bell place card holders at each seat. (These are functional and can be rung to celebrate the couple's toast.)
  • At the main bride and groom table, set it apart with a color coordinated table runner and floral and candle centerpiece. This would be a nice place for fresh flowers.
  • Hang the reversible wedding banner behind the main table.
  • Then, add smaller candles and rings along the length of the table.
  • Final Touches:
  • Place a guest book and pen in the foyer for people to sign either ...
