How to Get Rid of Tattoos

  • One of the most painful parts about tattoo removal is the cost. No matter which method you choose to endure, you can expect to pay for it. You can also guarantee that you will have to endure some pain. Getting rid of a tattoo is harder then getting it to begin with, so expect it to be difficult. The best method is to prevent getting a tattoo you aren't sure of in the first place; unfortunately, hindsight is 20/20.

Tattoo Art

In 1990, a 5000 year old man nicknamed Otzi the Ice Man was found in the Alps. He was covered with 57 tattoos. 2400 year old mummies found in Russia in 1948 which had tattoos of animals, both real and mythical. Some Egyptian mummies were also found with tattoos, and it is believed that the practice spread from there and reached all the way to Japan with the Ainu people.

In Polynesia, tattoos have a rich cultural significance. Many Polynesian cultures believed that a person's tattoo displayed their mana, or their spiritual power. The Samoans reintroduced Europeans to tattoos when a French expedition in 1787 came across them. In Samoan culture, tattoos define rank and title. The presence of the Catholic Church caused a decline in tattooing in Polynesian cultures because they forbade the practice. Traditional tribal tattooing is still practiced in Borneo.

The Celts, who spread through Europe from 1200 BC to 700 BC, tattooed themselves with woad, which left blue patterns on their skin. They reached the British Isles in 400 BC. There is evidence that much of the pagan world used tattooing as a form of diety worship.

When the conquistadors arrived in Mexico, they thought the tattoos of the Mayans were signs of devil worship and the work of Satan. There is also evidence that Native American groups in North America practiced tattooing.

Tattoo Artist

Things you will need to know include how to safely clean your equipment, how to operate a tattoo machine, how to adjust your power supply, how to protect yourself and your clients from disease, and last but not least, how to correctly apply a tattoo. This can take many months to learn completely. And make sure you take time to talk to other artists about the profession. Everyone you meet with has a potential to teach you something.

Once you and your professional feel you are ready, it is time to become a professional tattoo artist. You can possibly work for your professional, work for another shop or start your own shop (highly discouraged until you have professional experience under your belt).

No matter how long you apprentice or how long you tattoo, you never know it all. There is always more to learn, new techniques to adopt, new ways to enhance what has already been done. Never be satisfied with mediocrity and never allow yourself to become egotistical.

This can be a long, rewarding career and the financial aspects of it can make it very attractive. Just make sure you are becoming a tattoo artist for the right reasons and that you are willing to dedicate the time and effort required in becoming a master yourself.

How to Choose a Tattoo Parlor

Once you select a design and a studio, you should meet the artist who will be tattooing you. You need to be comfortable with that person and have total trust in his ability to give you the look you want. You need to be able to communicate with him. If you have questions, he should have the patience to answer them. He should convey a sense of understanding and not scare you in any way. A good tattoo artist will guide you through the process and make you feel at ease. During the actual tattooing, he should check to make sure you are relaxed and give you a few moments break if needed. If you feel ill or the pain is entirely too much, you should be able to tell him. http://www.tattoo.com/tattoo-101-12-things-look-when-choosing-tattoo-studio

Before you make your appointment with an artist, ask to see his work. An experienced professional will show you his portfolio and take time to discuss your design.http://www.tattooingtips.com/choosing-your-tattoo-parlor.html He might offer his opinions and give you helpful suggestions. By taking time to talk to you and getting to know you, he might even take your design and expand on it. Just remember that the final design should be your decision.

Deshawn Stevenson Tattoos

Washington Wizards' DeShawn Stevenson has a multitude of tattoos. In September 2009 he revealed his newest tattoos, including a portrait of Abraham Lincoln on his neck.

Stevenson also has a backwards "P" for the Pittsburgh Pirates on his left cheek. He has crack on the side of his forehead. Stevenson said he got the crack tattoo because, "I fell like people always try to break me, but I don't crack. So I put that there."http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/outlet/2009/sep/28/wizards-media-day/
