Ford Cash For Clunkers Canada

On September 3, 2009, Ford Canada launched its commercial version of the U.S. Cash for Clunkers program, offering Canadians up to $3,000 for vehicles that are 15 years old. Ford is the third automaker in Canada to offer such a program. Moreover, it's the highest rebate offered among the three. Under the plan, Ford would pay $1,000 toward a new car, or $3,000 toward a new truck or luxury Lincoln. Cash For Clunkers Future

The Cash Allowance Rebate System (CARS), commonly known as Cash for Clunkers will now have a deadline of noon, Tuesday, August 25 for dealers to file the rebate paperwork. Last week, the deadline was set for 8 p.m. Monday, August 24. The program was earlier infused with an additional $2 million after the original allocation was close to exhaustion.

The program was scheduled to end when funds were exhausted or November 1, 2009, whichever came first.c
