Mark Suster
Mark Suster grew up around computers in Northern California during the mid-eighties. After graduating from high school he attended the University of California, San Diego and received his BA in Economics. His first job was with Andersen Consulting which now is Accenture and located in in Los Angeles. His job was to build computers for the larger corporations, with his primary focus on networking with some time with programming, database design and system modeling and testing. In 1994 he transferred to the technology center of Accenture in Sophia Antipolis, France. He also worked in Rome, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary and Spain. Accenture sent him back to college where he received his MBA from the University of Chicago. After receiving his MBA he worked on projects like the original Internet Strategy at British Telecom the head of Internet & Multimedia and projects for Sony Japan.
In 1999 he started his first company in London. Projects done by his London company included the London Underground, Thames Water and the top German construction projects. In 2005 he sold the company and moved back to California, where he then started his second company in Palo Alto. He later sold the company to Sales Force and became their VP of product management. In 2007 he became a general partner of GRP where he concentrates on early-stage technology companies. In his current portfolio Suster is on several boards including Ad.ly, GumGum and Bedrock. He also is a Board Observer of Qualys.
