The best months for scuba diving in Maldives are from November to May. The water temperature is 24°C in February and July, and 27°C in April, May and September. There are some interesting places that feature diving in shark infested waters and feeding the sharks by hand. People who prefer lesser action can take a submarine dive under the guidance of a professional diver.

Maldives scuba diving facilities include en-suite cabins that are fully air-conditioned with three scuba dives a day. Tourism in Maldives offers online bookings for group as well as individual tours. There tours can be chosen from a large selection of diving boats with varying capacity.

Scuba diving holidays in Maldives are designed to suit every taste and budget. There are many schools that provide beginners and advanced courses, and various specialized diving lessons. It is not necessary to buy the dive equipment as these water sports centers provide equipment on rent. On special request, wreck diving and night diving safaris are also arranged with an expert diving instructor along with the requisite safety precautions.http://www.divingmaldives.orghttp://www.maldivesdivetravel.com

Male Islamic Center

The Islamic Centre is an important tourist attraction primarily due to its location near central Malé, and also because of the grand architecture of the mosque. Since November 11 2008, the Islamic Centre serves as the abode of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, and has replaced the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs which was set up by the former president Mr. Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom.

The Islamic Center and the Grand Friday Mosque are impressive structures that were constructed with financial support from the Persian Gulf states, Pakistan, Brunei, and Malaysia. The spectacular gold-colored dome of the mosque is the very first structure that strikes the eye.

The prayer meetings are conducted five times every day. Mudimu, the caretakers of the mosque, make the prayer call. While visiting holy places, it is desirable to cover oneself from shoulders to knees. Tours can be signed up to visit all the sightseeing places. The Maldives tourism board also provides car rentals.http://www.innermaldives.com/icenter.html

Male Fish Market

Male Fish market is located in the northern waterfront of the city. The best time to shop in the fish market is during the mid-afternoon when the dhonis arrive with their day’s catch.

Male, the capital city of Maldives is very well connected by air and by sea. Male is a very small island and therefore does not have its own airport. For those who arrive by air, the island named Hulhule serves as the most convenient point for making an entry into the city. Traveling to Male using water transport is another alternative. The city is very well connected by sea from a number of port cities.

On reaching Male, the visitors can avail the services of private taxis, cars and mini buses to reach their desired destination. Maldives has a warm climate with plenty of sunshine and high humidity. The best time to visit Male is from December to April. There are a number of tours that can be signed up to visit the Male Fish Market and other sightseeing places. http://maldives.tourism-srilanka.com/male/how-to-reach.html

Chinatown

A Chinatown is a region outside of China where a large number of people of Chinese origin live. There are Chinatowns in many different countries and regions of the world. One of the most famous and largest ones is Chinatown, San Francisco. Many Chinatowns are centers of shopping and tourism in addition to being residential communities. Chinatown can also refer to the movie Chinatown, directed by Roman Polanski.

In the United States, Chinatowns started forming in northern California and Hawaii with the arrival or large number of immigrants in the mid-1800s. They continued to expand through the 1900s as the number of Chinese immigrants to the U.S. continued to increase. Some U.S. cities that have Chinatowns besides San Francisco include Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City, which has several. Chinatowns also exist in Europe, Canada and Asia. The formation of the first Chinatowns in the United States were the result of local regulations that restricted where Chinese people could live, what types of professions they could take on and whom they could marry.http://www.asian-nation.org/enclaves.shtml

Platypus

The earliest known remains of the platypus as it is known today date back almost 100,000 years.http://www.platypus.asn.au/historical_background.html Due to its ancient lineage and combination of mammalian and reptilian features, the platypus has been described as a "living fossil".http://www.platypus.asn.au/historical_background.html The first description of a platypus was in 1799 by British scientist Dr George Shaw, who initially thought the strange-looking animal was a hoax.http://www.platypus.asn.au/historical_background.html Aboriginal people had a number of names for the animal, before European settlers arrived in Australia, including "boondaburra", "mallingong" and "tambreet".http://www.platypus.asn.au/historical_background.html
