When the chicken is done, chop it up, shredding it a bit. You can add it either before or after the spices and stock, just depending on when it's cool enough to handle. One method is to use one fork to hold the chicken breast and the other to shred it, which you can do even when it's fresh off the grill. In the interests of time, this might be the best method.
Next, if the cooking time for the lentils is nearly up, take a little spoonful, let it cool a tad and check to see if the lentils are cooked. If they aren't, then continue cooking them, checking them every 5 minutes.
