Obama Salute

"Our goal is to see a crowd of 75,000 people at Obama's nomination speech holding their hands above their heads, fingers laced together in support of a new direction for this country, a renewed hope, and acceptance of responsibility for our future."

"We thought, 'Let's try and start a movement where even while walking down the street, people would hold up the O and you would know that they were for Obama. You interlace your hands in a circle, the interlacing being a symbol of different types of people coming together and the circle a symbol of unity."

Bob Casey Endorses Obama

Senator Bob Casey from Pennsylvania announced his endorsement of then Democratic Presidential candidate, Barack Obama on Friday, March 28, 2008. The endorsement came as a surprise to the Obama team as Casey had stated he would not endorse anyone until after the April 22nd primary. Casey will make an appearance on April 22 in Pennsylvania at the primary election. It is also reported that he will be joining Obama on a six-day bus tour covering the state of Pennsylvania.

The strategists for Obama feel Casey's endorsement could help him gain the vote of the white working-class man that are generally referred to as 'Casey Democrats.'

Stephen Colbert Quotes

  • Wikiquote: Stephen Colbert
    • "It used to be, everyone was entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts. But that's not the case anymore. Facts matter not at all. Perception is everything. It's certainty."
    • "Laughter brings the swelling down on our national psyche, and then applies an antibiotic cream"
    • "Not living in fear is a great gift, because certainly these days we do it so much. And do you know what I like about comedy? You can't laugh and be afraid at the same time---of anything. If you're laughing, I defy you to be afraid."
    • "While skin and race are often synonymous, skin cleansing is good, race cleansing is bad."
    • "I believe in America. I believe it exists. My gut tells me I live there. I feel that it extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific, and I strongly believe it has fifty states. And I cannot wait to see how the Washington Post spins that one tomorrow."
    • "That's where the truth lies, right down here in the gut. Do you know you have more nerve endings in your gut than you have in your head? You can look it up. I know some of you are going to say "I did look it up, and that's not true." That's 'cause you looked it up in a book. Next time, look it up in your gut. I did. My gut tells me that's how our nervous system works."
