  1. Arrive at the venue several hours in advance of the event to set up all of the tables with chips and cards. Lay out snacks and beverages if you are providing them. If the venue is not well known, be sure to put out a few signs in front of the building which your guests can easily see.
  2. Make sure you have everything you need for the tournament including all the supplies and prizes. Making a last-minute run to the store is better done sooner than later.
  3. Greet guests and show them to their table. This can be done randomly or in cases where you know who is attending, a seating chart can be made. Be sure to collect donations from each guest.
  4. Shortly after the start time of the tournament, begin the game. Monitor the tables to make sure all is running smoothly. Keep everyone informed of the rules and if/when blind values increase. Rearrange players to keep table sizes the same after players are eliminated.

  2. The dealer gives each player three cards, one at a time, going in a clockwise direction. The first two cards are dealt face down with the third being dealt face up.

  4. Each player remaining in the hand receives another card, face up, known as "fourth street."
  5. A second round of betting follows, with the player with the highest visible card starting the betting. Each player can check, call, raise or fold.
  6. The fifth card, "fifth street," is dealt to each player, face up as well. Betting continues, starting with the person with the highest visible card(s).
  7. The sixth card, "sixth street," is dealt to each remaining player, also face up. Betting continues, again starting with the person with the highest face-up card(s).
  8. A seventh and final card is dealt to each player, this time face down. A final round of betting occurs.

How to Play Badugi

Badugi basic game strategy comes down to not over playing your hands. Because of the number of draws per round it is possible, as with Razz, to end up with garbage where you started off in good shape.

Badugi is not considered a bluffing game but mainly a game where the lowest possible hand wins. When betting your hand keep it tight and take limited and sure bets. Over betting a hand early will many times cost you more chips then had you waited a betting round or two.

Before playing for cash in Badugi, it is recommended that you become familiarized with hand ranking and game play. Knowing what to keep or discard or when to stand pat (no discard) can be the difference between winning the pot or paying into the pot.

How to Win at Online Poker Tournaments

By the time you have reached the final table you should have found a comfort zone with your playing style. You’ve raised your chip count, bluffed and played weak while holding great cards. Up to now you main focus has been to make it into the money round not winning the tournament. Now is the time to start thinking how to win the tournament.

Because your goal now is to win the tournament it is important to play your best game here. Playing your best game requires awareness of your chip count compared to other players.

If at this point you are short stack, then your only hope is to fold more and mostly play prime hands. Being short stack puts you in a dangerous position since both the blinds and other players will be working against you. Stay focused on the game without sacrificing missing plays that could increase your stack.

Playing as chip leader or above average chip count will allow you see more pots and play more hands. It also allows you to easily put lower chip stack players on the bubble, forcing them to commit most or all of their chips to play. Being the chip leader also becomes risking when you play against mid to above average chip stack players. Be cautious when playing weaker hands at this stage so not to lose your lead and capitalize on strong hands by enticing others into play.http://technology.ezineseeker.com/how-to-win-at-online-poker-tournaments-13d4054d4e.html
