How to Celebrate New Years
There is nothing wrong with ringing in the new year quietly. New Years Eve is just another night and sometimes spending it alone or with your close family is the absolute best way to usher it in.
- Plan your TV viewing schedule. Almost every tv channel does something special for New Years Eve. Some stations offer movie marathons, others have special variety shows to ring in the New Year. If you plan ahead, you don't have to miss a thing before the ball drops.
- Buy some special goodies. Even if your New Years isn't packed with people, it can be special. One of the best ways to make something special is with some special food. Buy some fancy appetisers to enjoy while you kick back on New Years Eve rather than settling for chips. Find a nice bottle of wine, special beer, or maybe even a small bottle of champaign to enjoy while the ball drops.
- If you make it special, it will be special. That's all there is to New Years Eve.

How to Make Realistic New Year's Resolutions
Write down your resolution(s) right away. This will help you to get your thoughts down in stone. Once they are written down, don't change them, they are now permanent. If you allow yourself to change your resolutions throughout the year you will soon find that you have not changed anything about your life at all. Resolutions are about changing something in your life. If you want permanence, you need to get your resolutions down and make them concrete.
Writing your thoughts down on paper is the best way to make sure that you don't equivocate. Make a copy of this paper and give it to an accountability partner who can ask about your resolution from time to time. The biggest point here is permanence. When you see your resolution in pen everyday you'll find more attracted to the possibility of completing your goal.

Venetian Cookie Recipes
When using Venetian cookie recipes, it is important to rotate the baking pan halfway through cooking time so as not to overcook and to retain a moist cookie cake. Sugar syrup is sometimes spread first before the jam on the cakes to make them moist.
There are recipe variations for both Venetian cookie cake and frosting:
For the sponge cake:
- Venetian cookie colors in some recipes can be altered to different colors like pink, blue, green, brown, etc., and different shades of green, red and yellow can be achieved.
- Other kinds of jams and preserves can be substituted for the customary apricot jam. Also, one kind of jam can be used in one layer and a different kind of jam used in another layer.
- Marzipan paste can be substituted for almond paste.
- Some recipes for Venetian cookies use margarine instead of the usual butter.
- Eggs are beaten separately in some recipes and others include whole eggs.
- A twist on the usual cookie bars is an italian rainbow cookie cake, baked in round baking pans. Assembly and topping are the same as cookie layers.
For chocolate topping:
- Ganache recipe can be made with semi-sweet chocolates.
- A Glaze consisting of bittersweet chocolates, butter, corn syrup and Grand Marnier can be used instead of ganache.http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-grand-marnier.htm
- Semi-sweet chocolate or chopped bittersweet chocolate can be melted in a microwave or a double boiler and then spread on top and let stand to set for a simple frosting.
- Chocolate sprinkles ...

How to Throw the Best New Year's Eve Party
During the party, of course you should enjoy yourself and the company of your guests, but you should also keep an eye out for possible areas of improvement. Circulate throughout the space, and don't be afraid to ask people how they think things are going. Some guests may offer up valuable tips for small adjustments that can be made to improve everyone's experience--something as simple as opening a window to cool the room down, or changing up the music.
Finally, ensuring that everybody leaves safely is always important. http://www.ehow.com/how_2004137_new-years-party.html Since most guests will come find the host to say goodbye before they leave, this is the right time to find out if they are planning to drive, and if so, whether they have been drinking. Be quick to offer alternatives if the answer to both is yes: call them a cab and offer to call in the morning to arrange to get their car back. Or better yet, offer them a couch for the night.

New Years Resolutions
The New Year's Resolution is a tradition that dates back to Ancient Rome. The first month of the Roman calendar was named after Janus, a two faced god believed to have looked forward to the coming year and back upon the previous simultaneously at the start of the New Year.
Setting self-improvement goals is a common activity at the beginning of a new year, with an estimated 40% to 45% of Americans setting at least one resolution each yearhttp://www.newyearfestival.com/new-year-resolutions.html. According to a 300,000 response survey, the top ten resolutions made are:
- Lose Weight and Get in Better Physical Shape
- Stick to a budget
- Reduce debt
- Enjoy More Quality Time with Family & Friends
- Find My Soul Mate
- Quit Smoking
- Find a Better Job
- Learn Something New
- Volunteer and Help Others
- Get Organized
Gary Ryan Blair is the inspiration behind New Year's Resolution Week. How to Throw a New Year's Party
The before or the day of you will need to decorate. Doing it the day before will allow you more time to work on snacks and other things on the day of the party. Don't forget to have music ready. Create some long play CDs that will allow you to mingle or hire a DJ to take care of the music. You can also hire someone to serve drinks, so that you are not stuck tending the bar all night. After that all that is left to do is have fun bringing in the New Year with all your friends and family.http://www.woio.com/Global/story.asp?S=982123

New Years Games
Have each guest write five New Year's resolutions on a sheet of paper. Place them in a hat and pass the hat until everyone has chosen one. Each person reads the resolutions out loud and each guest is asked to guess who made the resolutions. Tally up the scores and the person with the most correct answers wins. A variation of this game is to have the guests write down silly and serious resolutions and pick them from a hat. If the one picking the slip of paper does not believe the resolutions pertain to them, they can choose to pass it to someone who they believe may need to make the resolutions. When all resolutions are distributed, each person must read them out loud and agree to keep the resolutions.

New Year's Cupcakes
Making cupcakes for New Year’s is fairly easy. First make yourself a batch of your desired type of cupcake. An easy method is to use a store bought cake batter mix and then use a cupcake pan rather than a cake pan to produce cupcakes.
Then all you have to do is decorate your New Year’s cupcakes festively for the holiday.
Some ideas for New Year’s Cupcake decorations include:
- -Stars or sprinkles
- -Confetti or even Confetti cake mix
- -Bright colors
- -Firework looking designs
- -New Year’s party hats made using ice cream cones covered in frosting
- -Use of the coming year’s date (example cupcakes shaped or with 2010 on them)
- -Use of cupcakes to spell out messages such as “Happy New Year!” with one letter per cupcake.
