How to Play "One Way or Another" by Blondie on Guitar

Strumming the chords of the chorus of "One Way or Another" will do just fine to provide accompaniment to this part of the song. However, you may opt to mirror the melody of the lyrics on the guitar, as the lead guitarist of Blondie does in the original. You may use a "how to" video to learn how to do this by rote. You can also learn where to pluck every note by ear or trial and error.

Polysics

"This time we had a clear vision for this album, so we made the songs in a relaxed mood and were able to concentrate on recording." — Hiroyuki Hiyashi, interview with J-Pop Worldhttp://www.j-popworld.com/Interviews/POLYSICS.php (Speaking the creation of the band's album Absolute Polysics)

"I was shocked by the music video of Devo's 'Satisfaction.' I declared myself that "I want to form a techno and punk band like them!" and formed POLYSICS." — Hiroyuki Hiyashi, interview with J-Pop Worldhttp://www.j-popworld.com/Interviews/POLYSICS.php (Speaking about what started the idea to form the band)

Punk Rock

There was a punk music revolution in 1977 many new punk rock bands emerged and ushered in the alternative pop and rock is 1980. These bands still put out songs about political issues but the music style changed. Songs using a synthesizer and yet other songs with a more melodic acoustic guitar were coming about. These songs changed the music scene.

There are several related styles included in this genre, New wave, Alternative Pop/Rock, New Romantic, Indie Rock, and Pop Music. Some of the more notable bands in this era are The Cure, Devo, The Saints, Talking Heads, Adam Ant, Bauhaus, and Depeche Mode. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=77:2636

Punk Music knows no boundaries is comes from all over the world. The Ramones and Sex Pistols set the stage for other Punk Rock bands and each decade the music changes but old favorites remain popular. Floggy Molly is a punk band from California who mixes punk music with an Irish flavor, uniting the two with ease.

Clinic (band)

"I’ve never liked the idea that you’ve got the lead singer out front, and it’s a standard rock band. I don’t think the image is an essential element, it’s more of an addition to it – it’s just something else visually there. It wouldn’t really make too much difference whether you played in costume or not, the main thing is still the music." — Ade Blackburn, interview with L.A. Recordhttp://larecord.com/interviews/2008/05/20/clinic-more-of-a-nunny-state

"We’ve always collected creaky old instruments...there’s always knackered dulcimers and mandolins and stuff like that lying about. Writing on those helps you still approach it like kids. If you get another instrument you can’t play, you have to work it out, and you end up coming up with something simple, little melodies." — Ade Blackburn, interview with Domino Recordshttp://www.dominorecordco.com/artists/clinic/

Gary Numan

"I can't imagine a better way to live your life than on a tour bus, with your best friends, playing music each night to people that love what you do. On longer tours we often play ten or more gigs back to back with no days off. When you're doing something you love why would you want a day off?" http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/theguide/Interview-Gary-Numan--Eighties.5844537.jp

"I gather up all those leaflets you see in the foyers of hotels and look at all the things you can visit while you're there ... I have thousands of those leaflets at home. I keep them all with vague promises to go back one day." http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/theguide/Interview-Gary-Numan--Eighties.5844537.jp

"I got into music when I was really young, around four of five. I remember watching Hank Marvin on the TV and I remember the music didn't mean anything to me at all but the guitar was electric. That meant a lot. So my interest in music was more to do with the technology that made music. Music was kind of a by-product, a necessary evil. That's what happened with the Electric guitar and later the synthesisers. When Synths came along I was more interested in the technology than the fact it made music. I'm not really a very good musician ... I have a style, I think, which is primarily due to lack of ability. But I don't mean that in a ...
