Gateway of India

It doesn’t really matter at what hour you visit the Gateway of India, since it doesn’t know any opening hours. But in regards to safety, it is better to go in the morning or during the day, since Mumbai and the crowded plaza of the gateway is not very safe at night. The time to visit Mumbai in general is the best between October and March.

On the plaza are plenty of tourguides who are willing to tell you more about the Gateway of India or to take you on a tour throughout the city. Don’t forget to bargain, because the original price is always too high.

From the monument is it easy to take a boat to see the monument from the water. Other attractions that can be arranged or seen near the Gateway of India are the Elephanta Caves and the Taj Mahal hotel. http://www.infoindiatours.com/attractions/gateway-of-india-mumbai.html

Rajabai Tower

The Rajabai Tower is good to visit all year through. Nowadays it is a rather commercial place to be, with several tour operators, department stores and overseas communication centers. The tower is free to enter. Climbing to the top is no longer possible, after several accidents in the past.

The tower is situated in the center of the University of Mumbai and is easily accessible from all the corners of Mumbai. You can get there by car, taxi or bus, although taxis are the easiest and not expensive. A good way is going to the Chhatrpati Shivaji Terminus to get a taxi to The Rajabai Tower. The nearest airport is the Chhatrapati Ahivaji Airport. From several cities in Marahashtra, Mumbai can be reached by train.

Tours are also offered, which will take you to several different forts with among others the Rajabai Tower.http://www.bombay-mumbai-hotels.com/tourist-attractions/rajabhai-clock-tower.htmlhttp://www.mapsofindia.com/maps/maharashtra/tourism/landmarks.html
