Quit Facebook Day

If you wish to participate in Quit Facebook Day, you will have two options come May 31. You may either deactivate your account (which will allow your data to be stored in case you ever wish to return) or you can choose to permanently delete your account and thus wipe your info clean forevermore.

To deactivate your account, log in to Facebook and go to Account in the upper right side of the page. From the drop down menu, select Account Settings, and then Deactivate Account (on the bottom of the page). If you know that you never want to use Facebook again and do not like the idea of the website hanging on to your info, you can completely delete your account.
