Business Card Throwing Master

The Samsung HMX-H200 is a video camera manufactured by the South Korean electronics giant. It retails for roughly $400, and can be found at electronics stores like Best Buy as well as online sites like Amazon. It weighs about two pounds, and features OIS stabilization technology, which makes the camera a better option for filming moving objects, which the clear picture of the Business Card Throwing Master demonstrates well. In addition, the camera has no moving parts, which means it can withstand a significant blow from, say, an elbow or a business card, better than many of its competitors. The camera has a battery that lasts roughly two hours. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-H200-Camcorder-Optical-Black/dp/B0032UWTQI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1270080634&sr=8-1

Kid Crushed by Hoop

The two most common basketball systems for home use are the wall/roof mounted system and the pole mounted system. Due to space concerns, many homeowners select the wall/roof mounted system which is composed of a backboard secured to an exterior wall or roof ledge.

In order to obtain a secure and sturdy installation, it is important to ensure that the backboard is not installed in a section of the roof that has a gutter running along its edge. Also, the roof should be sloped towards the driveway or whatever will be the surface of the playing area. It is important that the rooftop not be composed of metal or ceramic based tiles.

Once the location for the installation has been determined to meet the above suggested requirements, attention should be given to the type of mounting brackets being used. For added sturdiness and increased protection of the surface of the property itself, extended brackets are often recommended. These brackets extend the hoop away from the house, increase the area for under basket coverage during play, and allow the brackets to be secured with both vertical and horizontal bolts, resulting in added sturdiness.

After proper installation has taken place, one should check the brackets and bolts at least once per year to ensure their integrity and sturdiness.

April Fools Day

Some families have a custom of planning and executing elaborate hoaxes together. One of these is The Story Game:

A person who is not in on the joke is chosen. This person is told that the family is going to make up a story, and then the victim is sent out of the room. The victim is told that he or she will have to guess what the story is.

While the victim is away, the family makes up a way that they will all know to say, "Yes" or "No" to the victim's questions. It could be the family will say "Yes" to any question ending in a vowel, for example, and "No" to any question ending in a consonant. There are many variations that can be used.

The victim is called back into the room and told to figure out what the story is that the family just made up. The victim can only ask questions that can be answered by "Yes" or "No". The victim ends up making up the story, unaware that he or she is doing so.

Christmas Decoration Gone Awry

On December 4, 2009 a 'news story' emerged about a man setting up a surprising Christmas Decoration. According to the report, he had to take it down again, because the decorations resulted in scaring people who were passing by, repeated attempts to rescue the 'man in distress' and risking car accidents.

The decorations consist of a man and a string of lights hanging from the gutter of a house, and a ladder which appears to have fallen away. According to the owner of the house, he had people driving up to the house, pulling up the ladder, and climbing up, only to realize the man was not real after all. Finally police advised him to take the decorations down, in order to avoid traffic accidents.

The origin of the 'news story' is uncertain, but it has emerged on many blogs and site, including Buzzfeed and Shorter And Sweeter. The story has not been confirmed to be a real news item, and might have been fabricated as a 'viral picture'. http://shorterandsweeter.blogspot.com/2009/12/greatest-christmas-decoration-ever.htmlhttp://www.buzzfeed.com/awesomer/christmas-decorations-gone-awry
