Kristin Marie Phillips

Kristin Marie Phillips, whose husband is a soldier serving in Iraq, is charged with starving her 11 month old daughter Alexis to death. The baby was found in her mother's arms, and authorities suspect she died of dehydration, starvation, and malnutrition. The house was reportedly filthy, with trash, spoiled food, dirty laundry, and animal feces in the living areas. It appeared that Mrs. Phillips may also have been suffering a seizure when police arrived. Phillips' other children have been placed in the custody of the Missouri Department of Social Services. Because the death occurred on an army base, it is under federal jurisdiction, and Phillips could potentially face the death penalty.
