How to Select a Horse Betting System

Some systems are based on mathematical equations. These systems usually are computerized selections using mathematical odds based on information programed. A number of soft-ware products are available for sale.

One type of the mathematical based systems is the "Dutch Betting System" which is formulating by betting a number of "win" tickets on various horses and calculating how many bets on the horses to win will result in your breaking even or getting ahead.

In this system, you decide how much you would like to win that race. Then calculate the number of tickets you would have to purchase on the horses to win that amount. If you pick three horses determine the cost per horse to win your dollar target amount based on the odds of the horse. You can bet as many horses as you like to "win" as long as the amount of the money bet is less than $100.00. The idea is that the more horses you bet on, the more likely you'll cash a ticket.http://www.horsehats.com/horse-betting-systems.html

Other systems are based on "probabilities" and there have been a number of software programs developed that will calculate everything for you. The cost of these programs vary. If you choose to use this type of system, don't be persuaded into buying it by the promises contained in the advertisements. Look for a money back guarantee. Check out the system first with an imaginary bank roll to calculate you wins or losses ...

How to Make a Belmont Breeze

Prepare the "Belmont Breeze" the day before and keep it refrigerated, and add the Strawberry, mint sprig, and lemon when serving. For the "White Carnation", don't add the cream or soda if you're preparing it in advance. Serve the cream, soda, and orange slices individually. Your shopping list will be determined by the drink you choose, but to help in your calculations:

  • A Fifth of alcohol equals approximately 26 oz
  • 750ml bottle of Harvey's Bristol Cream equals approximately 26 oz.
  • 750ml bottle of Peach Schnapps equals approximately 26 oz.
  • 1/2 gallon equals 64 oz.

In the Belmont Breeze you'll use twice as much whiskey as the Bristol Cream

For the "White Carnation, you'll use four times as much vodka as the Peach Schnapps.

Either drink can then be placed in a punch bowl, served over ice, with the garnishes either arranged around the bowl, or served on the side.

2010 Preakness Stakes

The Preakness Stakes was first held in 1873. Survivor was the first winner, taking the $2,050 purse by ten lengths, which is, to this day, the largest Preakness margin of victory. The Preakness is known for several unique traditions. In 1909 the traditional singing of Maryland's state song, "Maryland My Maryland" began when a bugler spontaneously began playing the tune and the band joined in.http://www.preakness-stakes.info/history.php

That same year, the tradition of "painting the colors" began where the colors of the race's winner were painted atop the weather vane at the race track. The race is often referred to as "The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans" because of the tradition of placing a blanket of Black-Eyed Susans around the neck of the winner. Black-Eyed Susans are the state flower of Maryland.http://www.preakness-stakes.info/history.php

How to Understand Race Horse Handicapping

Once you have accessed all the information and have narrowed your picks down, take a look at the tote-board for the horses' odds. If the horse that you picked to come in first has really short odds, like 1-2, or 1-1, it's hardly worth putting your money across the board (a win, place, and show bet) for such a small return, unless of course you're playing with a large bankroll. Otherwise, it would be more advantageous to pick a longer shot to place.

For exotic bets, exactas, trifectas, etc., check the tote board and the TV monitors for probable payouts. This information will let you know how many other people are betting on those particular results and how much money is the different pools. To properly choose the right type of bet you need to know how to make exacta bet in horse racing, or a How to place a horse racing trifecta bet. There are a number of variations on these types of bets and some will be more lucrative than others under certain circumstances.<ref>http://www.dmtc.com/handicapping/beginners.php

Woodbine Racetrack Casino

Woodbine Racetrack Casino was opened by the Ontario Jockey Club (OJC) on March 27, 2000. Shortly after, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission granted the OJC licensing rights to broadcast horse racing across Canada.http://www.woodbineentertainment.com/corporate/profile/History/Pages/1970s80s90s.aspx

This expansion led the OJC to change its name to Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) to better reflect its new country-wide horse racing interests. WEG was granted rights to launch an internet wagering site in 2004. Two years later WEG began simulcasting for off-track betting, and the following year it invested $400 million to further expand the Woodbine Racetrack Casino complex.http://www.woodbineentertainment.com/corporate/profile/History/Pages/TheWEGYears.aspx
