Hera
Hera played a prominent role in the myth about the Trojan War, captured in The Illiad. The story began with a beauty contest between Athena, Aphrodite and Hera.http://www.stanford.edu/~plomio/history.html Hera promised Paris power if he chose her, but Paris selected Aphrodite as the most beautiful, for she had promised him Helen as his wife for selecting her. His kidnapping of Helen caused the Trojan War, and Hera sided with the Greeks since Paris was a Trojan and had not chosen her in the contest.http://cerhas.uc.edu/troy/bios.html#
Hera is associated with the peacock. This is in part because, according to myth, she put the spots on the peacock's tail feathers. Hera had sent her guard Argus to watch over a cow that she knew was really Io, a woman Zeus was having an affair with. Zeus had changed Io into a cow so that he might conceal their affair when Hera caught them together. Hera took Io as a cow for a gift and Io would have remained that way with Argus with his hundred eyes watching over her, but Zeus sent Hermes to free Io. Hermes told stories and sang songs to Argus to make him fall asleep, then killed him. Hera was infuriated, and took Argus' eyes and placed them on the peacock in his memory.http://www.math.utk.edu/~vasili/va/GREECE/Greek_myth/zeusLover.html

Yggdrasil
Yggdrasil is central to the Norse cosmos and so it plays numerous roles in Norse mythology. The Norns protected the ash tree from Nidhogg, Graback, Grafvolluth, Goin and Moin, serpents that would kill it by chewing on its roots.http://www.wizardrealm.com/norse/gods.html The Norns also took water and mud from the Well of Fate at its roots and spread it over Yggdrasil’s branches in order to keep it healthy. During the battle of Ragnarok, it was foretold that the fire giant Sur would attack Yggdrasil and set it on fire. The tree and the nine worlds with it would then perish.c

Vampires
There are rumors of vampires exiting in the real world in addition to vampires found in fictional books and movies. There is a very small percentage of individuals who claim to be vampires in their own lives. While they may not drink the blood of actual humans, they do indeed drink the blood of other animals, sometimes sleep in coffins, and dress in peculiar outfits and capes. Some scientists have looked into studying about why these people become vampires. Vampires can not be bred in any way, a person must choose to become one.http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=6154446&page=1

Skadi
Skadi's father Thiazi was killed by the Norse gods for kidnapping the goddess Idun. Idun possessed golden apples that kept the gods young, and when Thiazi, in the shape of an eagle, flew off with Idun and her apples, the Norse gods started aging. Loki managed to rescue Idun and when Thiazi tried to kidnap her again, the gods killed him.http://www.pantheon.org/areas/mythology/europe/norse/articles.html Skadi was furious at this, and so to make peace, Odin told her that she would marry one of the gods. However, she must choose her husband while only looking at his feet.http://www.godchecker.com/pantheon/norse-mythology.php?deity=SKADI Skadi wanted to marry the handsome Baldr, god of light, and chose the feet that were fairest and must belong to such a beautiful god. However, the feet she chose belonged to Njord. Although disappointed, Skadi married him.http://www.godchecker.com/pantheon/norse-mythology.php?deity=SKADI
