Jeff Bridges Acceptance Speech
Bridges received numerous awards and accolades for his work in Crazy Heart, which included performing some of the songs on the soundtrack. He received the Best Actor of 2009 Award from the Broadcast Film Critics Association, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as the Golden Globe. He was also nominated for the role by the London Film Critics Association, the Satellite Awards, the Independent Spirit Awards and the BAFTAs.
Prior to Crazy Heart, Bridges' most honored performanes were in the films The Contender, The Fisher King and The Last Picture Show. For the political drama The Contender, in which Bridges portrayed the US President, he was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, the Supporting Actor Golden Globe and the Screen Actors Guild Award.
