How to Make Meatball Cookies
- Stir in about a cup of chopped nuts (like walnuts) or chocolate chips or three fourths of a cup of raisins to provide extra flavoring and texture.c
Skip the cocoa powder and add extra vanilla or some lemon extract, along with yellow food coloring, for a citrus look and flavor.
Dust warm baked cookies with powdered sugar or a simple chocolate or vanilla icing. To make chocolate icing, combine four cups confectioner's sugar, a quarter cup cocoa and a half cup milk. Consistency should be of a glaze. Pour small amount of glaze over each cookie (about one teaspoon). Top with sprinkles while the glaze is still wet.c Let dry 24 hrs before storing in airtight containers.

Jelly Beans
The center of the jelly bean is produced first. Sugar and syrup are boiled, then squirted into cornstarch-coated trays to dry. These trays form them into the shape of small beans. After being coated with sugar and steamed, they are left alone for up to two days to dry and cool. Another several days are used to "glaze" the bean with a further layer of sugar.

Fruit
The first known written reference to fruit is in the Bible when Eve convinced Adam to eat the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. Since then, people have been eating fruit that has been grown in the wild, purchased from grocery stores, or planted in gardens and in groves. Oranges and apricots were grown in China more than 400 years ago. Each country, all over the world has fruit that is grown specifically to that region.http://www.allaboutcreation.org/adam-and-eve.htmhttp://www.kidcyber.com.au/topics/fruit&veg.htm
Fruits and vegetables have been growing in the wild for many centuries. When people first began to eat fruit as food, they simply gathered their choices from the wild. For thousands of years, fruit was picked, gathered and eaten in this manner. About 11,000 years ago, people began to plant their own fruit to grow their own plants and use them as a part of their daily diet. The farmers experimented by mixing seeds and this produced new varieties of wild fruits to be enjoyed.http://www.kidcyber.com.au/topics/fruit&veg.htm
Many years ago, fruit that was found growing in one region of the world was taken by the early explorers and traders to other regions. It is believed that Christopher Columbus took pineapples from South America to Spain in the 1400s aboard his ship. These new fruits were planted and grown by the locals. Today, fruit is shipped and flown all over the ...

Pastries
Food historians think that the Ancient Egyptians had some sort of pastry, and while we are not certain of their recipes, the ancient Greeks had cooks who specialized in pastry. Puff pastry was developed in the Middle East and brought back to Europe by the Crusaders, where cooks used the information to evolve new kinds of dishes. In Asia, pastry evolved along different lines; it is generally deep-fried or baked.
