Spelman College

Spelman was founded in 1881 by Sophia B. Packard and Harriet E. Giles. It moved to its current location in 1883. It was named after Laura Spelman Rockefeller, the wife of John D. Rockefeller, one of the school's earliest donors.http://www.spelman.edu/about_us/facts/
