How To Become a Travel Agent Calgary
SCAMS: There are many travel companies out there offering job opportunities where you can work from home and sell travel. You can find plenty of them on the Internet. The advertisements might say you can work full or part time and still make lots of money. Often they glamorize the profession of the travel agent. To start working for them, all you will have to do is pay a few hundred dollars which will give you your own website to start selling travel. There are legitimate agencies that recruit people to independently sell travel for them; however, some of these advertisements are scams. They only want to take your money for something that sounds too good to be true. Make sure you are dealing with a reputable agency before getting involved. http://www.homebasedtravelagent.com/scams.htm

Calgary was pioneered in 1875 by a group of North West Mounted Policemen, who were seeking to build a new fort.http://www.incalgary.com/History%20of%20Calgary.htm Calgary got it's name from the Scottish town Calgary, the home town of Colonel James McLeod. The land for the fort was set aside for cattle ranching, and the fort was then colonized. The railroad came next to Calgary, the line passing through in 1883. The trains brought ranchers and allowed for the transport of cattle to and from the town. Calgary was officially labeled a city in 1884 once its population reached 4,000 people.
In 1886, most of the town burned down in a huge fire. The town was mostly built of wood, so it burned quickly. The town did rebuild however, and found a rather fire resistant building material in sandstone. The stone was attractive and practical. The town was then called "The Sandstone City", and soon it became a sign of patriotism to build with sandstone. In 1912, the first great Calgary Stampede ran. One in three residents attended. The stampede was a financial flop, and did not return until 1919, and has been run every year since. The Stampede is a celebration of the Old West, with almost one million visitors coming to watch every year!
