Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

The cover of "Sgt. Pepper's" helped spur many rumors claiming that Paul McCartney had died and had been replaced by a look-alike named "Billy Shears" - who is introduced to the listener at the beginning of "With A Little Help from my Friends." Here are some of the rumors:

  • Everyone on the album cover appears to be standing in front of a fresh grave.
  • A left-handed bass made of flowers sits beside the supposed grave. McCartney was the bass player. Some people believe that, if you look closely, the flowers appear to spell out "PAUL".
  • A statue of the Hindu god Shiva - known as "The Destroyer" - appears to be pointing at McCartney.
  • A hand appears above McCartney's head, which in many cultures symbolizes death.

The story of McCartney's supposed death can be chronicled in the lyrics of some of the songs from the album. Apparently he was driving down a road at 5:00 A. M. ("She's Leaving Home") and was distracted by an attractive woman on the side of the road ("Lovely Rita"). He continued driving after a street-light had turned red and he was struck by an oncoming vehicle ("A Day in the Life").Paul is Dead: Paul is Dead
It should be noted that the most people do not believe that Paul was actually killed, but a small group of people do maintain that McCartney was replaced by William Campbell (a. k. a. Billy Shears) in 1966 and everything done by who we know ...

How to Play Good Morning Good Morning by The Beatles on Guitar (Practice Video)

The second section begins with the lyrics, "People running around, it's five o'clock," and the tempo is cut half-time with a swing beat.  The chords alternate between D major and E major.

The D major is played as an A major bar chord at the fifth fret.  The E major is played as an A major bar chord at the seventh fret.  Because you are playing the D and E chords with the same fingering, you can slide up two frets from the D to the E.

How to Play A Day in the Life by The Beatles on Guitar

Play Lennon's dream part with the following chords: C, G major, D, A major. The strumming switches between up and down in this sequence: down, down, down up, up, down, down. The dream part is played by going from G, to D, to A, to E major, to C, to G, to D, to A. To finish the song, play either the E major chord, or play the octaves: E octave, to D octave, to C octave, to D octave, to G octave. The final orchestra part is explained in another Mahalo.com video.

How to Play A Day in the Life by The Beatles on Guitar (Practice Video)

Once you have prepared yourself by exercising your fingers and practicing the individual chords of "A Day in the Life," practice playing the song.  Start off slowly by playing one verse at a time, noting any errors you make.  Move on to other sections of the song until you are playing it completely.  Try to play the complete song during your practice time.  Make notes in a notebook as you practice and review your notes often. Keep practicing so you can master your weaker areas.http://www.guitarlessonsreviews.net/Guitarlearningtips/howtoplaytheguitarbetter.php http://guitarcoaching.com/tips/7.htm
