Hades
Major ancient Greek myths that involve Hades include how he captured his wife Persephone, the tale of Orpheus, and his punishment of Sisyphus.http://www.theoi.com/Khthonios/Haides.html Hades abducted Persephone, the daughter of Demeter the goddess of the harvest. In order to trick her into remaining as his wife in the underworld, he got her to eat a seed of a pomegranate. Anyone eating food in the underworld had to remain there. This infuriated her mother Demeter, and she refused to cause the crops to grow, resulting in famine. A compromise was struck, with Persephone spending half of the year in Hades, half above ground. The myth explains that fall and winter occur when Persephone is in Hades and that spring and summer occur when she is above ground.http://www.theoi.com/Khthonios/Haides.html
Orpheus was a great musician. When his wife died, he went into Hades to get her back, and used his playing skill to convince them. His wish was granted but on the condition that he not look at her until they were both out of the underworld. He became anxious and looked at her as they were on their journey out of the underworld, and she vanished, this time for good.http://www.theoi.com/Khthonios/Haides.html
Sisyphus managed to escape death twice, once by tying up the god of death Thanatos, the other by tricking Hades into releasing him. In the second case, before his death, he told his ...

Archaeoastronomy
A study of the Pyramids of Giza reveals that the ancient Egyptians were familiar with mathematical astronomy. The researchers believe the two main pyramids, Cheops and Chephren, were a planned project related to the movement of planetary objects. The Great Pyramid of Giza, Cheops, was aligned with various objects in the ancient sky -- Orion's Belt, Sirius and the circumpolar stars.
Some researchers speculate that Serpent Mound functioned as a calendar for the Adena people.http://www.highlandssanctuary.org/Serpent_Mound_Visitors_Guide.htm The earthwork has alignments to the Equinox sunrise, Winter Solstice sunrise, Summer Solstice sunset and Summer Solstice sunrise.http://www.ohiohistory.org/ http://texasnativeskies.org/sites/site.php?s=4
In 1963, Gerald Hawkins, an astronomer at Boston University and the Harvard-Smithsonian Observatory, suggested that Stonehenge was an astronomical calculator.http://www.nytimes.com/2003/07/26/us/gerald-hawkins-75-astronomer-who-theorized-on-stonehenge.html The stones are not only "aligned with solar and lunar astronomical events", but can also predict eclipses.http://witcombe.sbc.edu/stonehenge/archaeoastronomy.html http://www.archaeoastronomy.com/stonehenge.html

April Fools Day
Some families have a custom of planning and executing elaborate hoaxes together. One of these is The Story Game:
A person who is not in on the joke is chosen. This person is told that the family is going to make up a story, and then the victim is sent out of the room. The victim is told that he or she will have to guess what the story is.
While the victim is away, the family makes up a way that they will all know to say, "Yes" or "No" to the victim's questions. It could be the family will say "Yes" to any question ending in a vowel, for example, and "No" to any question ending in a consonant. There are many variations that can be used.
The victim is called back into the room and told to figure out what the story is that the family just made up. The victim can only ask questions that can be answered by "Yes" or "No". The victim ends up making up the story, unaware that he or she is doing so.

Alien Abductions
October 14, 1957 Antonio Villas Boas, a Brazilian farmer, was working fields when he noticed what appeared to be a bright red star in the sky, growing bigger in size as it approached him. Eventually, an egg-shaped object landed a short distance from him, and Boas was captured by occupants of the craft. Following a medical-like examination, which included taking large samples of his blood, Boas got seduced by a distinctly alien looking woman. He was then given a short guided tour around the exterior of the craft, and finally released from capture.[1]
September 19–20, 1961 Betty and Barney Hill see a UFO while driving, and suddenly notice that they are further down the road without being able to recall how did they get there.. Regressive hypnosis brings out memories of abduction by aliens.[2]
December 3, 1967 Patrolman Herbert Schirmer reports UFO sighting and later recalls alien abduction.[3]
October 11, 1973 Fifteen people vitnessed a UFO in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Subsequently, Calvin Parker and Charles Hickson report being abducted by strange, alien looking entities.[4]
November 5, 1975 Travis Walton sees a UFO and disappears for five days, reappearing with alien abduction memories. Recounted in his book Fire in the Sky, and a movie of the same title.[5]
August 20, 1976 Four men canoeing in the Allagash Waterway cannot account for an interval of "lost" time, following a UFO sighting. Dreams and regressive hypnosis uncover memories of abduction.[6]

Horus
Set killed Horus' father Osiris. First he trapped him in a sarcophagus and threw it in the Nile River, but Horus' mother Isis rescued Osiris. Then, Set managed to dismember Osiris and cast the pieces of him around Egypt. Isis managed to reassemble him, and Osiris became the king of the dead. In this form, he visited Horus and asked him to avenge his death by killing Set. Horus agreed, and attacked Set. The advantage in the battle never stayed with either god for long, and the battle was said to have continued indefinitely.http://faculty.mdc.edu/jmcnair/Joe12pages/The%20Osiris%20Legend1.htm
In one instance, Set managed to blind Horus by pulling out the eye and tearing it apart. Thoth, the god of wisdom, managed to heal his eye. The representation of the Eye of Horus began to be used as a magical charm.http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/egypt/horus.htm It was also said to represent strength and self-sacrifice, although in some cases it was said that one of his eyes represents the sun and the other, the one Thoth healed, represents the moon.http://www.mnsu.edu/emuseum/prehistory/egypt/religion/mythology.htm
