Jennifer Jones Dead
Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Jones died at the age of 90 on December 17, 2009, due to natural causes. The actress was perhaps best known for her Oscar-winning performance in the 1943 film, "The Song of Bernadette."
Born Phylis Lee Isley, Jones arrived in Hollywood in 1939 and caught the eye of producer David O. Selznick, who referred to Jones as the ""big-eyed girl." Selznick spent much of his late career catering to the career of Jones. The couple were married in 1949, a marriage that lasted until Selznick's death in 1965.http://home.hiwaay.net/~oliver/actress.htm
Following Selznick's death, Jones went on to marry famed industrialist and art collector Norton Simon, whom she met in 1971. Following his death in 1993, Jones became chairwoman of the Norton Simon Foundation Board, overseeing a $3 million renovation of the Norton Simon Museum.http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/culturemonster/2009/12/jennifer-jones-oscarwinning-actress-and-norton-simon-chairwoman-dies-at-90.html
Considered by many to be one of the most underrated Academy Award-winning actresses in history , Jones also received four other Academy Award nominations, including her roles in 1944's "Since You Went Away," 1945's "Love Letters," 1946's "Duel in the Sun," and 1955's "Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing."http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0428354/bio
