The Top Chef Super Bowl showdown features the remaining contestants from the New York cast. The chefs will compete against seven contestants from former Top Chef seasons in creating the ultimate in Super Bowl fair.

The fifth season of Top Chef is set in New York City, which Padma Lakshmi considers to be the Culinary Capital of the World. The season started off with seventeen chefs from all over the world, and at the time the Super Bowl Showdown episode aired only seven chef-testants were left.
