• The two part series finale for Top Chef New York kicked off in New Orleans on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. The final four contestants: Hosea Rosenberg, Stefan Richter, Carla Hall and Fabio Viviani faced their final elimination challenge alongside former cheftestant, Jeff McGinnis, who managed to win himself another shot at the Top Chef title. In the first half, McGinnis and Viviani were eliminated and Hall, Richter and Rosenberg went on to the finale.

  On February 25, 2009, Rosenberg won the title of Top Chef after the judges agreed that of the three finalists, Rosenberg created the most well-rounded menu.

  Top Chef is a reality cooking series that gathers talented chefs from all over the world and stages them in a new city each season. The chefs are eliminated one by one based on their performance during each episode's cooking challenge. Top Chef New York is the fifth season of the series and featured two European chefs, Fabio Viviani and Stefan Richter. Both Richter and Viviani are in the final four and will go head to head for the title of Top Chef.

  The winner of Top Chef will receive $100,000 to help them start their own restaurant, a spot at the Food and Wine festival in Aspen, Colorado and a feature spread in Food and Wine magazine.
