Toothpaste

Toothpaste is a paste or gel used to clean the teeth. It removes food or plaque that has built up on the teeth, giving them a better appearance and freshening breathe. Many formulas contain fluoride which helps to strengthen teeth. Most toothpastes are sold in soft, flexible tubes, although some are also sold in hard, tube-like containers.

Warning

If a large amount of toothpaste is digested, contact the Poison Control Center. It may cause kidney failure due to the chemicals that are used to make it, which the body may be unable to digest.
