Toothbrush

Toothbrushes are tools used to clean teeth, gums, and the inside of the mouth. They can be manual or electric. Manual tooth brushes are considerably cheaper. Electric brushes are faster and have been found to clean better than manual brushes.

History

The first known toothbrushes were made in China around 1000 years ago. William Addis began making tooth brushes in England in the 1780s. They were made by hand from pigs bristles and bone. The company is still going today.

Types

Most dentists recommend using soft bristled toothbrushes, as harder bristled brushes can wear down tooth enamel and irritate the gums.
