The Grammy Award winning progressive rock band Tool formed in Los Angeles, California in 1990. The band has toured the world and has had a series of albums that were internationally successful. Their 1993 song "Prison Sex", off of their first full length album Undertow, was banned from MTV due to it's symbolic representation of child abuse.
On April 21, 2009, Billboard announced Tool would be performing at the 2009 Lollapalooza Festival at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois in August 2009.Billboard: Lollapalooza 2009 Lineup Announced (April 21, 2009)

Unique Style of Tool
Tool's lyrics are often controversial, dealing with a range of topics from child abuse to spirituality and evolution. The art in their videos is notable because of their use of stop motion animation. Rolling Stone described the music video for the song "Sober" as "groundbreaking" and "epic". -
