  • Former Olympic figure skater and national champion Tonya Harding was implicated in the attack on her rival skater Nancy Kerrigan just before they competed in the 1994 Winter Olympics. She received probation after admitting to hindering the FBI's investigation into the assault, which was masterminded by her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly.

    On February 17, 2009, fifteen years after the attack on Kerrigan, Harding appeared on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.   • Nancy Kerrigan Attack

    In 1994, Harding gained notoriety for her alleged role in the injurious attack on rival skater Nancy Kerrigan. Harding's ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, with whom she was living at the time, was later convicted in the attack. Gillooly and two other men served prison terms for their roles in the crime.

  • The Tonya Tapes

    In 2008, Harding released a biographical book, entitled, The Tonya Tapes. The book tells of her difficult upbringing, which she alleges was marred with abuse. The book also reveals that Harding wanted to go to authorities and tell them of Gillooly's involvement in the attack on Kerrigan.
