Tony Snow

Tony Snow was a former White House Press Secretary for President George W. Bush. Snow resigned from the position in 2007 to undergo cancer therapy. Prior to becoming the White House Press Secretary, Snow was a Fox News correspondent. Snow passed away on July 12, 2008.

Early Life and Career

After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Davidson College in 1977, Snow became a editorial writer for newspapers in North Carolina, Virginia, and Michigan, before becoming editorial page editor of the Washington Times in 1987. In 1991, Snow became chief speechwriter for the first President Bush.

Fox News Career

In 1996, Snow became the host of Fox News Sunday and frequently appeared on the channel in various capacities. He also served as a frequent guest host on Rush Limbaugh's radio program. In 2003, Snow left television to host his own radio show, the Tony Snow Snow on Fox News Radio.

Press Secretary

In 2006, Snow made the transition to the position of White House Press Secretary, filling a role left open by the departure of Scott McClellan. The previous year, Snow had been diagnosed with colon cancer, and in 2007, he was forced to step down in order to undergo therapy for the disease. In 2008, Snow was forced to cancel several public appearances because he was too sick to travel.
