• American actor Tony Shalhoub plays the role of obsessive compulsive detective Adrian Monk, on the USA dramedy Monk. For his role he has won three Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards.

  Before making it big on television, Shalhoub had an accomplished theater career and appeared in the Broadway adaptations of such hits as The Heidi Chronicles, Conversations with my Father and Waiting for Godot.

  He began his television career with an six year run as Antonio Scarpacci on the NBC sitcom Wings, and then starred in another NBC sitcom Stark Raving Mad. His film credits include The Last Shot, Galaxy Quest, and Primary Colors.
