Life and Career
Tony Leung was born in Hong Kong. His father was a gambling addict and left the family when Tony was eight. Leung credits much of the way he is to this event.
Leung quit high school, and after meeting friend Stephen Chow, he decided to pursue acting. He started off in TV, and his big break onto the silver screen came when he starred in John Woo's Hard Boiled alongside Chow Yun-Fat.
He has since risen to became one of the Chinese and Hong Kong film industry's top stars. He has collaborated frequently with Wong Kar-wai and recently starred in Ang Lee's Lust, Caution.
