Tony Dungy is a former player and retired NFL head coach. Dungy was the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2002 to 2009. Dungy was previously the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, between 1996 and 2001. In 2006, Dungy became the first African American coach in the National Football League to win the Super Bowl.
On May 5, 2009, Dungy visited former Pro Bowl quarterback Michael Vick in his Kansas prison. While the details of their conversation was not disclosed, the meeting was said to be "very positive."ESPN.com: Dungy Pays Vick a Visit in Prison
Life After Football

Dungy was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a defensive back in 1977 and played on the team's 1978 Super Bowl championship season. He was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 1979 and finished his playing career with the New York Giants in 1980. Dungy is still the only player since the NFL-AFL merger to both throw an interception and complete an interception in the same game.Coaching Career
Dungy started his coaching career with the University of Minnesota as a defensive backs coach. He began coaching professionally in 1981 with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a defensive backs coach. His first head coaching opportunity came in 1996, where he coached for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.-
