• Tony Conrad is a pioneer of minimalism, in addition to being a violinist, composer and filmmaker. Within his avant-garde musical style, he used amplification and exploration of new sounds having received contributions from artists like La Monte Young and Faust. His most famous film is The Flicker of 1966, is considered to be within the structural film movement.
