Tony Alamo is the leader of the Tony Alamo Christian Ministries in Fouke, Arkansas. On September 25, 2008, Alamo was arrested at an Arizona hotel on suspicion of transporting minors across state lines for the purpose of sex (the Mann Act). Alamo's headquarters were raided by the FBI on September 20, 2008, after a two-year long investigation into child abuse.
On July 24, 2009 Alamo was convicted on 10 counts of transporting young girls across state lines for sex. According to the prosecutors of the case, Alamo "married" the girls by exchanging "wedding vows" and giving them rings.
