Deep Roots
Though the breed was only officially recognized by the Cat Fanciers' Association in 1984, the Siamese/Burmese hybrid has existed at least since the early 19th century (when is was called the "Chocolate Siamese" in England), and possibly as far back as the 14th century in it's Thai homeland.Cat Fanciers' Association: Breed Profile: Tonkinese
