  • Tommy Haas is a German professional tennis player. Known for his strong forehand, Haas reached a career-high ranking of number two for the ATP Tour in May 2002.
  • Early Years

    Tommy Haas began playing tennis at two and a half. His father was a coach at a tennis club in Hamburg and discovered that his son had abilities when he discovered him hitting tennis balls against a wood plank. By the age of five, Haas won a small youth tournament and three years later was playing larger youth tournaments in Munich.   • Haas Poisoned

    During the Davis Cup semifinals in September 2007, Haas was forced out of his match with a questionable stomach virus. Rumors spread that Haas was not sick, but that he was poisoned by a Russian.
