  • Lara's Tumultous History

The Tomb Raider series is one of the most popular franchises in videogames. Lara Croft made her debut on the original Playstation and Sega Saturn in 1996. At the time, the game was heralded as being one of the first true 3D gaming experiences, and the main character got plenty of attention for the size of her breasts. Her designers, Core Design, went on to develop many more game installments, and Lara eventually made the jump to comic books, novels and two films, starring Angelina Jolie.Wikipedia: Tomb Raider Series

But while all of the mass media was taking off, the game series had taken a nose dive, getting poorer and poorer review scores, until Eidos pulled the property away from its original creators and handed over development duties to Crystal Dynamics.GameSpot: Core Design Loses Lara (July 3, 2003) Since the switch, the Tomb Raider franchise has once again been lauded for being one of the best in its genre.Wikipedia: Tomb Raider Series
