No Illusions
- YouTube: Tomb Raider: Underworld Walkthrough - Prologue: No Illusions (Time: 3:54)
- Once the cutscene ends, proceed forward down the flaming tunnel
- Press Y to throw the switch and open the door
- Press B to crawl under the wreckage
- Climb onto the flat pile of rubble past the wreckage
- Note that a blue symbol will appear on the edge of the screen; this is a hint prompting the player to turn towards a target that can be grappled. Use the right analog to face the camera towards appropriate target (the nearby closed door) then press X to fire the grapple, then Y to yank the door open.
- Continue forward into a hall divided by a burning pit. Look for a health pack just past the doorway; Press Y to collect it.
- Walk towards the cliff on the same side of the hall as the doorway. Face the wall opposite and jump towards it, clinging onto the crown molding.
- Shimmy and then press A to jump upwards when prompted.
- Continue shimmying to the left, then press B when prompted to drop down.
- Shimmy to the left, then when prompted pull down on the left analog and press A to jump to safety.
- Approach the ornate box and press Y to grab onto it. Use the left analog to push and pull the box; press right or left on the analog to turn the box in a different direction. Push the box forward so that it is placed underneath the section of crown molding on the wall straight ahead.
- Jump onto the box and use it to reach the crown molding above.
- Shimmy over to the right as far as Lara can go, then hold right on the left analog and press A to jump to safety.
- Make a running jump over the hole in the round, then continue down the atrium. When prompted, fire your grapple gun.
- With the grapple still in place, make a running jump off of the broken stairs in the direction of your grapple. Swing over the inferno towards the other side of the atrium; if need be, rock the analog up and down to give Lara more momentum.
- Move forward and when prompted, walk off of the nearby edge, and press B to drop down. A cutscene will trigger, ending the level and unlocking the Prologue achievement.

The Path to Avalon
- YouTube: Tomb Raider: Underworld - Mediterranean Sea: Path to Avalon (Time: 5:25)
- Face the rear of the boat directly and jump off. Hold B to swim right down into the ocean, heading straight to the bottom. Turn on your utility light (left on d-pad) and switch to your harpoon gun (right on d-pad) as you do so.
- At the ocean floor, swim towards the larger peak. There is a cave at the base that can be swum into. If you become lost, press the Back button to access your PDA, then use the Sonic Map to create a 3D render of the immediate area. Watch out for sharks; if any approach, lock onto the target with the left trigger and shoot them with the harpoon gun. TREASURE #1: Before swimming into the large peak ahead, swim towards the smaller one towards the left. There is a hidden cave entrance, obscured by seaweed; Treasure #1 is lying in an alcove further inside. TREASURE #2: Just past the structure containing Treasure #1 is another structure with a small entrance under a rock "bridge". Swim down and get the treasure inside. TREASURE #3: Face the cave entrance to the large peak, and swim straight up along the peak's surface. The treasure is in a small niche in the surface of the peak, near the top.
- Inside the cave in the large peak is a door with "ornate disks"; a puzzle with that requires two "axels" before it can be attempted to solve. One axel is located right in front of the door on a pedestal; pick it up with the Y button and use it on one of the two bottom disks. TREASURE #4: Face the door with the ornate disk puzzle, and then turn the camera to the right, up towards the ceiling. You should spot a hole in the ceiling leading to the outside; the treasure is on a rock cropping halfway up the hole.
- Exit the cave from the main entrance and swim forward and to the left. There is another small cave that contains the second axel. Attach it to another disk on the door. TREASURE #5: From where you collect this axel, swim underneath the big fallen rock pillar, then immediately make a hard right turn into the corner. Its in the corner on the ground. TREASURE #6: After exiting the structure with the third axle, turn to the right and swim to the dilapidated structure ahead. There's an entrance with the treasure inside, embedded in the rocks.
- With all axels in place, turn them in the following order: Top, Right, Right, Left. The door will open; swim down the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, you will surface into an underground lake. TREASURE #7: After passing three groups of jellyfish, you will see a lone jellyfish floating above a small wall of rocks. Right behind the wall of rocks is Treasure #7. TREASURE #8: Once you surface into the underground lake, run to the right into a dead end with pots. One of the pots has the treasure.
- Continue onward into an area with a small pool and a stone ramp leading into the water. Follow the ramp up to a new area. Collect the health pack on the slab with the water dripping onto it. TREASURE #9: At the bottom of the pool in this area. TREASURE #10: From where you grab the aforementioned health pack, jump three times to scale up the wall, then sidestep to the right as far as possible. Jump to the right onto a ledge and shimmy around the corner. Jump backwards onto the flag pole, and use the series of flag poles to reach the alcove containing the pots which have it.
- From the health pickup, look for another slab in the opposite corner. Use it to reach a ledge, then shimmy around the bend to a ledge above and grab it (this same ledge can also be reached from where Treasure #10 is hidden). Leap to the nearby flag pole, then from it, to the ledge beyond. Shimmy around the corner and drop down carefully using the B button to the ground.
- Go behind the dais with the switch and pick up the two weights with the Y button. Use the B button to set the pair onto the pressurized stone pads to the left of the dais. Fire a grapple at the statue "target" above the other stone pad and yank it down with the Y button (do NOT be underneath it when doing so!). The crumbling statue will crush the other pad into place. Throw the switch on the dais and continue on. ACHIEVEMENT: "CLIMBER", "MASTER CLIMBER": An early opportunity to get this achievement. Past the weighted plates puzzle is a series of stairs with a blue flame illuminating the area. Run up the first set of stairs, then immediately round the right-hand corner and observe a VERY small niche: it's in between two big wall pillars along the second set of stairs. Lara can easily wall jump around in this niche up to the maximum five times. TREASURE #11: Past the weighted plates puzzle is a series of steps that leads to a solitary cliff. Jump to the cliff, and from there jump to the small alcove across from it. Break the pots inside.
- Move past the steps leading into the next area (you must crouch-walk under the fallen pillar to continue into it). Look for a small crevice at the bottom and crouch-walk through it to the other end. Drop down, then follow the slabs upward, grabbing the health pack as you do so. From the health pack, jump to the ledge and climb up to the stone stairs. TREASURE #12: Look for a pot near the base of these stairs.
- In the next area, look for a health pack in the small hold across from the well-lit spot across from where Treasure #13 is. Continue on to trigger a cutscene. TREASURE #13: In this area, in a pot in the well-lit spot on the immediate right.

Niflheim
- YouTube: Tomb Raider: Underworld - Mediterranean Sea: Niflheim (Time: 8:49)
There are five treasures you can collect before you begin solving the Kraken room: TREASURE #14: After the cutscene, follow the path to the right, using the ledges on the left-hand wall to cross the first gap. Instead of crossing the second gap, slide down the slick ramp and run all the way to the end where some pots are located. TREASURE #15: From Treasure #14, drop down to the steps below and follow them into the water. Treasure #16 is at the floor of the pool near the steps. TREASURE #16: From Treasure #15, get back on the steps and follow the path to a staircase that leads back to Treasure #14's location. Instead of ascending the stairs, look for pots to the right of the stairs in the corner. TREASURE #17: Also from Treasure #15, swim across the pool to the other side towards a complimentary set of steps to the ones the previous treasures were near; the treasure is sitting on them. TREASURE #18: From Treasure #17, climb up the slabs and look for a staircase facing away from the lighted slabs in front of the Kraken. Climb the ledge in the way, then turn left and run down the hall to a dead-end containing some pots.
- With the available treasure now all yours, the Kraken can be defeated. From Treasure #18, return down the hall and make a left. Follow the path to an area with some gears. Use the grapple to yank a loose gear into place, then climb up and use the pillar as a stepping stone to the other side where a switch sits. Throw it and continue forward.
- Follow the statue's contour around the back of the head to the hand closest to the big dish hanging above the octopus' head. Leap to the dish and move forward into another room with gears. Drop down and yank another grapple point, freeing up another switch. Climb up, then slide down the slick ramp and jump halfway down it onto a flag pole. Use the flag pole to reach some shimmy ledges and eventually the next switch. Throw it.
- Return to the dish, then fire at a grapple point to the right of a switch on the wall across the dish. Jump and swing over to it, then hold up on the analog and Y to climb up. At the top, press A to jump away from the wall, aiming Lara towards the ledge. Throw the switch, and shoot the two nearby chains to end the Kraken. TREASURE #19: Walk to the right of the switch and wall jump in the niche here. You should eventually grab an edge to climb; go up and break open a pot with the treasure. ACHIEVEMENT: "SWAN DIVER I": From the ledge holding Treasure #19, perform a swan dive into the pool below by jumping forward with the A button and immediately hitting B afterwards.
- With the Kraken gone, throw the switch it was blocking, right next to the big door it was also blocking. Continue on; use the left analog to climb along the crumbling wall on the left to cross the big gap. For the gap with the balance beam, you can use the left analog to keep Lara steady, although if you fail, you can also simply shimmy across.
