    Prior to playing professionally, Nalen played college football for the Boston College Eagles. After redshirting in 1989, he started each game between 1991 and 1993, earning All-American and All-Big East honors.Official Site of the Denver Broncos: Tom Nalen

    Nalen was selected 218th overall in the 1994 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos]]. He made his professional debut that same year, playing in seven games. The following season Nalen was sidelined at the end of the year after tearing his lateral meniscus. He returned in 1996 and went on to earn his first of five Pro Bowl selections in 1997. Nalan continued with the Broncos, helping them win Super Bowl XXXII in 1998 and Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999.
