Career with Braves
Glavine has his greatest career success during his time with the Atlanta Braves between 1987-2002. During his time with the team, Glavine won two Cy Young Awards and was named the World Series MVP in 1995, when he won games two and six of the series, beating the Cleveland Indians. Together with Greg Maddux and John Smoltz, Glavine helped anchor one of baseball's most formidable pitching rotations during the 1990s.He left the Braves in 2003 to sign as a free agent with the New York Mets, with which he earned his 300th career win. Glavine returned to the Braves in 2008, signing a one-year contract. He renewed that contract for an additional season in 2009.
