Tom Ford

Tom Ford is an American fashion designer who gained notoriety for taking an almost bankrupt Gucci and making it a billion dollar empire. Ford then successfully moved on to his own label named after himself. It is reported that Ford is going to design womens clothing.http://www.thestar.com/living/article/699783

Early Career

Born in Austin and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico Ford first studied architecture and then fashion moving from New York University to Parson's School of Design in 1986. By 1990 Ford was hired by Gucci and quickly promoted to Creative Director where he brought glamour back to a dying label. By 1995 his modern campaign concept with Carine Roitfeld saved the bankrupt fashion house from closing. In 2004 Ford left Gucci and by 2007 he opened his flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York City.
