  • Tokyo is the capital of Japan and one of the largest cities in the world. There are literally thousands of accommodations located throughout the city, ranging from high-end to smaller, more personal inns or ryokans. Many of the luxury hotels have more of a "Western-style", while the more affordable ones are a mix between Japanese and Western culture.

  • Luxury Stay

One of the well-rated, high-end hotels in Tokyo is the Park Hyatt. This hotel is on the Condé Nast Traveler Gold List, as well as a Travel + Leisure 500 winner. It is one of the most "gorgeous" hotels in Japan and the service is "efficient and personal." Most of the rooms have "breathtaking" views of the city, and are furnished with plasma televisions, free internet access, a mini-bar and DVD players.
  • Affordable Stay

Many of the more affordable lodging options in Tokyo are ryokans. They offer many of the same amenities as your basic Western inn, but have more of a Japanese feel to them. One great example is the Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu. There are both Japanese- and Western-style rooms; some with bathrooms and some without. Free internet and English television stations are provided to guests.
