Todd Phillips

Todd Phillips is a documentary and comedy filmmaker and director. Born and raised in New York, Todd Phillips attended New York University where he studied film. He eventually dropped out to finish a documentary titled, Hated: GG Allin And The Murder Junkies.

Phillips has worked on many popular comedies as either a producer or a director. Some of the films he has been involved with include Road Trip, Old School, School for Scoundrels and The Hangover. Phillips originally went to school for film at NYU, but would drop out to start working on professional documentaries. After starting his career helping to produce documentaries, Todd Phillips turned his attention towards comedies in 2000 with Road Trip. Phillips' newest film, the first directed by him since The Hangover, is a comedy called Due Date. The film centers around a father, played by Robert Downey Jr. who is making a cross-country road trip to try and get home to see the birth of his new child. Phillips is also directing and producing the sequel of The Hangover. That movie is currently filming and will be released sometime in 2011.
